中国式英语简历常见的五个错误
中国式英语指的是中国的英语指英语学习和使用者由于受母语的干扰和影响,硬套汉语规则和习惯;中国式英语简历指的是求职者不遵守英语简历的格式要求,仅仅是通过硬性翻译来写作英文简历。以上两种,都是不喝规范、不符合英语文化习惯的畸形英语,对于求职者来说,这样的内容,不单不能起到促进作用,反倒会拖累你找工作的步伐。
中国式英语简历的错点,多集中在格式和语法上。而其中,细分下来,求职者在写作简历时最常犯的错误有以下几点:
1、不遵守固定格式:随意西方人,在对待简历方面是非常严谨的。与中文简历不同的是,英文简历对格式有着明确的规范。如果不知道怎么写的话,建议各位不妨下载几分空白英文简历模板,直接填充内容;
2、语言词汇犯忌讳:Political affiliations 政治立场;Your religion; unless applying for a job at a religious institution宗教信仰,除非你投有关宗教职位;Salary history工薪历史。这几个词汇绝不能出现在你的英文简历中,谨记;
3、拼写错误:拼写错误是简历中的大忌,此项人人都知道,但总能出现在申请人的简历中。这是为什么我将这一点放在第一个说的原因。申请人们,长点儿心吧!在递交申请之前出了要double check个人陈述(PS)之外,一定也要注意check一下简历,千万不要范这种低级错误;
4、语法错误:很多求职者为了省事,在写作英文简历的时候,通过有道词典等工作直接将中文简历翻译一遍。当你为自己的“聪明才智”沾沾自喜的时候,殊不知,你在给自己找麻烦。中文和英文,语法方面存在很多差异,直接翻译的后果就是——你的简历,外国人读不懂;
5、非职业化,不整洁:为了使简历夺目,很多求职者花费心思在包装上下狠功,或是使用鲜艳的彩色纸,或是使用花体字,总之怎么漂亮怎么来。可问题出现了,简历美观度是上升了,但职业化却飞流直下。与中国人不同的是,外国人认为简历是个很严肃的事情,相较于花哨的外观,他们更喜欢那些整洁、得体的简历。
