没内容可写的求职者,失败是可以预期的。或许,求职被拒绝的最主要原因就是履历表的内容乏善可陈。换句话说,履历表中什么有力的信息也没有 ―――看它的人根本不知道凭借什么理由给应征者面谈的机会。一份好的履历表应该传达出这样的信息:“好好看看我,我会值得让你在面谈时了解我的。”而没内容的履历表则传达极不同的信息:“我只是碰运气,看你会不会见我,之后我将真的让你知道我有多差劲。”

人事主管最基本的需求是他们必须保住饭碗。负责挑选合适的人才是一项繁重而拿不准的工作。可是负责的人不见得都受过这方面的训练。他们的主要目标是找到适才适任的对象,因为若是选错了人,代价将是失去同事、领导的信任,万一这类差错出多了,他们最后还会丢掉工作。这种情形对人才交流中心亦然。
于是,你的顾客(不论是老板还是人才交流中心)都需要你书面的保证能够达到他们的要求。早期筛选履历表的过程中,顾客将会淘汰所有那些没能提出保证的履历表,而这时所有“毫无内容”的履历表便被判出局了。
